Tommy Wilcox
Tommy
was born and reared in Harahan, Louisiana. He grew into an avid
outdoorsman of the Louisiana bayous from an early age. As a boy, he
loved to fish for speckle trout, redfish and flounders and to hunt for
ducks, squirrels and rabbits.
Tommy was recruited by legendary Coach Paul Bear Bryant to play
football at the University of Alabama. He was on two national
championship teams. He was SEC Freshman of the Year in 1979 and went
on to become All SEC three times and All American two times. Tommy was
on the All Decade team and All Century team. Tommy played two years of
professional football before a neck injury ended his football career.
In his spare time, Tommy continues to enjoy the great outdoors;
including hunting deer, turkey and quail and fishing for bass and
bream. Tommy's desire to share his experiences and passion for the
outdoors is why the Tommy Wilcox Outdoor Show is becoming a reality.
Tommy has two children, Kristi and Kacie, by his lovely wife Mary.
