Tommy Wilcox Bio

Tommy was born and reared in Harahan, Louisiana. He grew into an avid outdoorsman of the Louisiana bayous from an early age. As a boy, he loved to fish for speckle trout, redfish and flounders and to hunt for ducks, squirrels and rabbits.

Tommy was recruited by legendary Coach Paul Bear Bryant to play football at the University of Alabama. He was on two national championship teams. He was SEC Freshman of the Year in 1979 and went on to become All SEC three times and All American two times. Tommy was on the All Decade team and All Century team. Tommy played two years of professional football before a neck injury ended his football career.


In his spare time, Tommy continues to enjoy the great outdoors; including hunting deer, turkey and quail and fishing for bass and bream. Tommy's desire to share his experiences and passion for the outdoors is why the Tommy Wilcox Outdoor Show is becoming a reality.

Tommy has two children, Kristi and Kacie, by his lovely wife Mary.


Gary Harris Bio

Gary is WVUA's Sports Director, and the 5, 6, and 10 p.m. sports anchor. He's been at WVUA since November 1997.

Gary was born in Miami, Florida and raised in Cleburne County, Alabama. Gary attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama.

Gary has been awarded 5 consecutive Alabama Associated Press "Best Sportscaster" awards, as well as 19 various news and sports awards from the Associated Press.

Gary is no stranger to Tuscaloosa. He previously worked for WDBB 17 in Tuscaloosa. He also worked for WJSU 40 in Anniston. He has also worked for various stations in Mississippi, such as WTOK and WTZH in Meridian, and Mississippi News Tonight in Jackson Mississippi.

His biggest sports story to cover has been the ongoing Alabama football situation. When not working, Gary enjoys working out, golf, and traveling. He's involved with the United Way and with the PARA basketball camp. "Tuscaloosa is a teriffic sports town. I love living here and I love covering the Crimson Tide!"


Lance Shores Bio

Lance was born and raised in Bessemer, Alabama and attended McAdory High School. His love for Alabama sports was sparked by the first game I attended. Alabama defeated rival Auburn and the Classic 315 game 28-17. Coach Paul Bryant became the winningest coach in the history of college football that evening. He also grew up in the great outdoors where he became an avid fisherman and hunter.

In his spare time, Lance continues to enjoy the outdoors; including hunting deer and turkey and fishing of any kind. Other hobbies include : Photography, Website Design, and Co- Ed Softball.


 Lance's dream is coming true being able to bring the excitement and beauty of the great outdoors to the mainstream public.


Tommy Sanford Bio

Tommy Sanford was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1970, where he continues to live today. His love for the outdoors started at a very early age. As soon as he could walk his dad had him in the woods and on the water. All of his knowledge of hunting and fishing comes from this first hand experience and from the best teacher in the world, his father.

Tommy owns Sanford Store Equipment where he buys and sells all types of Restaurant fixtures. The family owned business is celebrating its 15th anniversary and is looking to be there many more years.

Tommy has been married 7 years to his wife Allison. They have one child, Chas who is 15 months old.


Bill Sudduth Bio

Bill Sudduth, M.D. was born in Jefferson County, Alabama May 7, 1942. His hobbies include hunting, fishing and gardening and just being in the great outdoors.

Bill has Board Certifications from The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (February 1978) and also American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery (September, 1975)
